Giuseppe Rossi is an American-born Italian football player who currently plays for Fiorentina. He plays as a deep-lying forward and sometimes as a winger or attacking midfielder. He moved to Fiorentina in January 2013 after 5 years at Villarreal.

Rossi has represented the Italian national team at Under-16, 17, 18, 21 and senior level. He is becoming an ever important player for his teams! Although Giuseppe wasn't at Euro2012 due to a knee injury.

Giuseppe Rossi, 20 hopes his impact on the spanish league will grant him the opportunity to step up from U21 level into the senior Italian squad.

“I have not given up on the dream although I know it will be very difficult,” said the 20-year-old.

He cetainly has the talent and at only 20 has a long career ahead of him.

Giuseppe Rossi has been injured and will be out for six weeks after he picked up a knee injury in the 4-3 win at Atletico Madrid.

After scoring his 7th goal of the season, the 21-year-old was stretchered off just before half-time and subsequent scans have now confirmed the extent of the blow.

Rossi has suffered a break to external meniscus and stretched the cruciate ligaments.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said he tried to persuade Rossi to stay, promising the striker he would be given opportunities at Old Trafford.

But he added: “He wanted to have a go at first-team football. We’ve got a clause in his contract where he could come back to us at some point.”

United signed Rossi as a 16-year-old from Parma and the Italian club were keen to secure his services once again after the striker helped them stay in Serie A with nine goals in 19 matches during a loan spell there last season.

Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino plans to make an offer for Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi this week.

Corvino is in London for talks with Arsenal over Freddie Ljungberg and also has met with United officials in the last 24 hours about their interest in Rossi.
